BMEGA Connections – Graduate Mentorship Scheme
The Biomedical Engineering Graduate Student Association (BMEGA) offers a mentorship program for all graduate students enrolled in the School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME). The mentorship program is designed to help new students settle into graduate student life in Biomedical Engineering (BME), and to provide an opportunity for students to receive peer advice on graduate work, extracurricular activities, research opportunities, etc.
New students can sign up as mentees, and will be matched with a mentor (a graduate student that has been enrolled in BME for a year or longer). We are also looking for current graduate students to sign up as mentors for this program. Mentors are grouped together with mentees according to their mutual interests as best as possible. Groups meet up twice a term to catch up and discuss student life, career goals, or whatever is felt to be appropriate! A $10 Starbucks gift card is given to each student every term, to encourage groups to meet up and have a good chat!
We also accept undergraduate students in SBME who are interested in joining the program as mentees.
